Holy Moses

Moses Patrou is soul/jazz singer, songwriter and keyboardist that has been electrifying audiences at the Roxy Bar of late. Born in Nashville and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, the now New York-based Patrou never fails to make a heartfelt impression.

“The first album I bought was A Tribe Called Quest’s ‘People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm,’ he recalls. “Soon after, I found paid work at age 15, playing congas and bass guitar on a song called ‘Crescent Moon’ by the artist Johnny Chimes.”

Patrou has contributed his talents to a wide array of live and recorded projects. “My most memorable gig was singing on a Coca-Cola commercial called “Video Game” that premiered during the Super Bowl in 2007 immediately after the iconic Prince halftime performance.”

This triple threat has found a regular home on the Roxy Bar’s storied stage. “I love playing the Roxy,” he tells us. “It’s  a great vibe, in a central location of the city. It’s been a good room for us where we can invite our friends and fans to hear us perform, and a chance for us to make new ones too. At our next show on November 16, get ready for some great singing, songs and Hammond organ. It’s sure to be an entertaining evening with some of New York’s finest musicians.”

And who does this nimble stage and session ace cite as his main musical influences?

“Allen Toussaint, Ray Charles, and Al Green,” he tells us.

We wholeheartedly approve! Catch Moses on November 16 at Roxy bar starting at 8PM. Reserve your table HERE.
