Backing Up Paul McCartney

Roxy mainstay Ben Stivers jams with Sir Paul for a summer to remember.

Last week on Long Island, a supergroup was born. And Roxy Bar regular Ben Stivers was there for the ride!

Anchored by famed producer and guitarist Andrew Watt (the Rolling Stones, Miley Cyrus), the band brought the sold-out crowd at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett to cheers and screams. Featured performers included Chad Smith (the Red Hot Chili Peppers) on drums, G.E. Smith (SNL, Hall and Oates) on guitar, and Roxy favorite Ben Stivers on keyboards.

But the real fun began when the guests artists took the stage. Rising singing star Charlotte Lawrence guested for Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” Watt himself soared on guitar covering Prince’s “Purple Rain,” and to top it all off, the one and only Paul McCartney joined in for rousing versions of the Beatles “I Saw Her Standing Her There” and Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” (along with Lawrence).

Can you think of a better way to end the summer? We can’t!

Congrats to Ben and the whole band! Check out the footage on Instagram HERE and below.
