Rick Lollar is a New York City-based guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Through his work as a leader, and collaborations with Southern fusion guitar wizard Jimmy Herring, and soul jazz luminary drummer/vocalist Jamison Ross, Lollar has carved out a sound centered in the blues, yet stamped with the harmonic and rhythmic invention of jazz. His gritty, expressive singing voice and his gift as a songwriter and lyricist are just as central to his musical identity.

Hailing from Tallahassee, FL, and having spent over a decade in the Atlanta music scene, Lollar moved to NYC in 2022. He’s performed and recorded with diverse artists, including Jimmy Herring, Jamison Ross, Marcus Roberts, Scotty Barnhart, Col. Bruce Hampton, Roosevelt Collier, Lera Lynn, Larkin Poe, The Lee Boys, Robert Finley, Kenosha Kid, The Filthy Six, and many others.
